From Courtrooms to Cookies
If somebody had told me a decade ago that I’d be running a café, I probably would’ve laughed.
Back then, I was a lawyer, working in litigation, sometimes even on cases in the Supreme Court, alongside some of the biggest names in the field.
Life was intense, and while I was good at what I did, there was always a quiet craving in the background… quite literally.
Even in college, I had a thing for baking. Brownies, cookies, dry cakes—I’d whip up something, and my friends were always ready with empty plates and big smiles.
Somewhere between case files and courtrooms, I realised: I didn’t just want to eat beautiful desserts, I wanted to make them.
One day, I finally listened to that voice in my head. I quit law and enrolled at IICA in Delhi.
It wasn’t easy walking away from a “stable” profession, especially with conservative parents (and a whole bunch of relatives) at home, but I knew this was something I had to do for myself.
At IICA, I discovered what it really meant to be a chef. I learned the foundations, the discipline, and the joy of creating with intent.
I even pursued a short speciality course from France to deepen my understanding and refine my technique, even though it came much later in life.
As they say, good things make you wait!
Learning Through Experience
After training, I worked with places that I had once admired as a customer—Bombakery, Artusi Ristorante, and Shangri-La. Each kitchen taught me something different—about precision, teamwork, flavour, and people.
It was during these years that the idea of owning a café became more than just a daydream. I didn’t want just a bakery. I wanted a space where people could slow down, indulge a little, and feel a sense of belonging.
A New City, A New Start
Life brought me to Greater Noida after I got married. It was quieter, growing, and full of potential. But what struck me the most was the lack of artisanal cafés—places where quality, comfort, and community came together.
So I decided: this is where The Little Pink Cafe belongs—a warm, welcoming spot built on coffee, cakes, and conversations.
Where I’m Meant to Be
Our Opening day was a whirlwind. I was nervous, proud, excited—all at once. But it was the day when I started living the dream.
But the true validation came much later, in unexpected ways. Some customers who had travelled abroad would tell me how our coffee reminded them of their favourite spots in Australia or how our hot chocolate was better than what they’d had in Germany or Canada.
Moments like that make everything worth it.
The Little Pink Cafe is more than a dream fulfilled—it’s my way of sharing joy, one bite (and sip) at a time.
And that was my our story. If you have yours to share, we have cakes and coffee to give you company.
You’re more than welcome.
